The Argentine National Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts (INCAA) announces that the call for submissions for filmshas openedfor the 36th edition of the Mar del Plata International Film Festival, whichwill take place from November 18 to 28, 2021.The call for submissions is for Argentine and international films, as well as for Argentine and Latin American productions in progress.
Submissions will be open until July 30, 2021 for the following seven competitions:
-International Feature Film Competition
-Latin American Feature Film Competition
-Latin American Short Film Competition
-Argentine Feature Film Competition
-Argentine Short Film Competition
-Altered States Competition
-En Tránsito Competition (Argentine and Latin American Work-in-Progress)

Since 1954, the Mar del Plata International Film Festival has been a fundamental touchstone for cinema in the region and the world. Organized by INCAA, it isthe only Latin American Competitive Festival recognized by the International Federation of Film Producers Association / FIAPF (Class A), and the Festival’s objective is to present the best of national and international cinematography, in order to contribute to the development of culture, the advancement of the industry and its dissemination worldwide.
Due to the current public health emergency caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, this year the Festivalwill hold a special edition that will combine in-person events with virtual ones, in which we will guarantee that the current safety and public health measures, or those established by the national government and health authorities, will be followed,in order to strengthen the Festival’s commitment to the films, filmmakers and the audience.
